Followup to any Worm Treatment

No matter what dog dewormers chosen, it is important to do an intestinal cleanup afterward. You want to make the intestines inhospitable to these critters by feeding your dog soluble and insoluble fiber. Here are some recommendations. All of these can be used on a daily basis in dog food as a preventative:

• raw shredded or finely chopped carrots
• 1/2 to 2 teaspoons wheat or oat bran depending on your dog's size.
• 1/4 to 1 teaspoon diatomaceous earth (NOT the kind used for swimming pool filters).
• 1/2 to 2 cloves fresh minced garlic, depending on your dog's size.

All of the above will help your dog's immune system while preventing a worm reinfestation.

Effects of Bad Dog Food

Canine internal parasites need a nice gummed up mucus filled intestine to thrive. Just what highly processed dog foods create. Consider homemade dog food or at least add the above along with one of the high quality dog health supplements recommended, on a daily basis.
