Michael Vick Dogs
What became of the Michael Vick Dogs? Watch an 11 minute movie on them, along with the origins of Pit Bull dog fighting, behavior, temperament and history. (Did you know about the Nanny Dog?)I swore I wouldn't utter his name. I know I will never watch a football game he is in, nor support anything he is connected to. Not ever. Just for today though, I will type the name of Michael Vick because I had an epiphany. Something good came from that horrible injustice. Millions of people took the side of the dogs! And some wonderful dog loving folks proved something without a shadow of a doubt. It's not the dog, it's the owner.
Out of the blood, gore and horror and what these dogs went through, these 'savage beasts' have proven that dog fighting is not normal pit bull behavior and that pit bull temperament has the same range as any other dog. Because a dog has a square head or muscular body, does that make him a brutal beast? Are only blond hair, blue eyed humans good? Since when have we become Nazi Germany? Breed specific legislation is no different that Nazi Germany. How can we allow any body of government to tell us dogs should die because of their appearance! Its ludicrous. I believe because folks stepped up to help the Michael Vick dogs, BSL shouldn't stand a chance. We don't need to fight anybody, we simply need to stand up for the dogs. After all, the United States Constitution begins with, We the People. That means all of us, not just a few. I sincerely believe that because of where these surviving dogs are now, people nationwide will use this to prove the absurdity of breed specific legislation. A year in the making, watch this 11-minute movie by Dog Files Creator, Kenn Bell. Entitled "Pit Proud", it shows pit bull history and temperament. Meet some of the Michael Vick dogs now, along with their new families; find out how pit bull dog fighting really started; and the time when pits were considered the perfect family dog who earned the nick name Nanny Dog. (Note: There is a 30 second ad at the beginning and end of this movie.)
This cover picture shows one of Vick's dogs, scars apparent, in the arms of his new owner. He just wanted to be a dog, and now he is. Michael Vick proved, the only brutality comes from those who instigated it, not those who carried it out. * * * For more pit bull stuff, see Are Pit Bulls Dangerous Dogs? It includes the music video, 'Pit Bull Blues' courtesy of John Shipe. Thanks John! Makes me smile every time I watch it!
