Silly Dogs
Here is the silly dogs perspective of how all this dressed up dog stuff began including the top 13 funny photos. Enjoy!We begin with Lily talking to her baby pit bull litter. Remembering how people were frightened of her even when she was a young dog, she comes up with a plan: "Now puppies, we live in a world where some humans are afraid of dogs, especially Pits. To keep you safe, I will give you some special disguises. I want you to be good little pitties and you will have a life like your Uncle Kurby. He goes fishing, to the park, to campfires and even gets treats at the bank drive up window. If dressing up helped people get comfortable with Uncle Kurby, then it will help you too."

* * * "Don't you think this outfit should get me into the pizza parlor or the Mexican restaurant downtown? There's never been a food made I don't like. I could even go for Chinese. Anyone up for pot stickers or spring rolls?"
* * * "I'm the one who started all this silly dogs with sunglasses and clothing, so I hope to get a little credit. The small pics from top to bottom are: me undressed; my mother Helen; me first thing in the morning; winking sister Millie; Step sister Lily; siblings; and me as a baby."
* * * "Okay, who shrunk my outfit? I don't think the bee costume shows my true, sweet dog personality anyway. I think I look grumpy. Do you think I look grumpy?"
* * * "Everyone knows I shredded that dumb rubber duckie. What I could really use is ear plugs. If I'm not allowed to shake water off in the house, how can I get that water out of my ears?"
* * * "I've been a dressed up dog for years. It's not the clothes and sunglasses that bother me. My reputation is at stake here!"
* * * "Talk about silly dogs. I came, I dressed, I danced. Now it's time for a nap. Come on, I'm a growing pit bull pup. I need my 18 hours of beauty rest."
* * * "I don't mind wearing the outfit, but I think it puts me in a bad light. Now can you tell I get along with dogs, cats, ferrets and birds? Speaking of birds, let's put the jail-bird thing behind us once and for all."
* * * "Butterflies tickle!"
* * * "What a handsome dog, if I do say so myself. Look how peaceful I am here. It was so great to come back to my first home for a visit. They say elephants never forget, but neither do pit bulls. I remembered those smells the second I got out of the car."
* * * "Wow. I remember this puppy dog picture like it was yesterday. There I was trying to get some shut-eye when someone blew on my face. When I opened my eyes, a flash went off. And they call us silly dogs. How did I handle this silly human? I went right back to sleep, of course. Pit bulls are very forgiving by nature."
* * * "Come on, how come she always gets to wear the glasses? I swear I won't chew them this time."By the way, this book is for sale at Amazon.com. Makes me want to go through the window into the other world too. They still need some help. As long as I'm on this side though, I'm shamelessly promoting this great adventure book."
* * * "Life is full of changes. I'm used to the cold now. It really doesn't matter where you are. It matters who you are with. May you be as lucky to have a pack like mine."

Andrea here. At the end of 2010, Bonz Capone, the godfather, I mean grandfather of these pups is nearly 11-years-old. Helen is 9 1/2. Kurby, Moo and their adopted sister Lily just turned eight. And the six week old puppies in these photos are 3 1/2. It's been fun. They've been a handful. But in the end, there is nothing in the world as wonderful as the bond we have with our family and dogs. God bless them all. * * * I am proud to be able to share this humorous calendar. It's large and on thick paper in case you have a favorite picture you'd like to save.
